Arts on the Ave is proud to present the 16th annual Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival, Edmonton’s first festival of the year!
The magic of Deep Freeze Festival is casting a spell on winter this January 21 and 22, 2023! Step into Alberta Avenue District for the Deep Freeze enchanted forest, where loom a mystical creature, vivid blooms, bright-hued mushrooms, and woodland animals—all hand sculpted by our world-renowned ice, balloon, and lantern artists.
For two days, watch as Deep Freeze Festival spreads winter magic into our Alberta Avenue District and come celebrate the Olde New Year with light installations, ice sculptures, cultural stories and winter artistic panache.
Arts on the Ave is a registered Canadian charity and we strive to keep our festivals running as free events because our hope is for everyone to have the opportunity to participate in the joys and benefits of artistic expression.
However, creating a free arts festival is unheard of in today’s world. So, how do we do it? With an incredible arts community, excellent supporters, super volunteers, and generous friends. Thank you for supporting the festival through our 50/50 raffle! Your generosity is at the heart of it all!
